The first IFAD Mission visited SPPAP target areas from Jan. 24, 2014 to Feb. 06, 2104.
The Mission comprised of: –

First Supervision and Implementation Support Mission was carried out from 24 January – 06 February 2014. The broad objectives of the mission were (i) to review and assess the achievements of the project, and the performance of the implementing partners; (ii) identify and understand the key issues and challenges (iii) assess compliance with fiduciary aspects and (iv) provide implementation support particularly for financial management. In view of the very initial stages of the Project implementation, the Mission mainly focused on managerial aspect of implementation arrangements and carried out a detail assessment of procedures and system put in place by the project.   The mission carried out field visits for interaction with Project communities, PMU, DMUs, and the Implementing partner.
Visit fo IFAD MissionThe mission spent most of the time in the field along with the implementation partners of SPPAP, as well as with the Lead Project Agency. A roundtable discussion and workshop with PMU and NRSP was conducted, to discuss the issues and recommendations related to project implementation. The wrap-up meeting was held with Chairman P&D Board in Lahore on 06 February 2014. The mission would like to thank the Planning and Development Board and other concerned Departments of the Government of the Punjab for their support to the Project. The Mission would also like to particularly thank to Project Director and their entire teams for the excellent support in organizing and carrying out the mission and for their frank discussions and opinion for identifying challenges and constraints and formulation of recommendations and agreed actions.
